As the season comes to a close, it’s hard not to feel proud of everything our U7 and U9 athletes have accomplished this year. From the first time picking up a stick to the final whistle of the jamboree, these players have shown what grassroots lacrosse is all about—energy, effort, teamwork, and joy.
🔸 For many of our U7 players, this was their very first experience playing organized lacrosse. Over the course of the season, we watched them learn the basics: cradling, passing, shooting, and—just as importantly—learning how to be part of a team. Every practice brought new skills and a little more confidence, and every game was a chance to celebrate effort over outcome. The smiles, sideline cheers, and post-game excitement said it all.
🔸 Our U9 group took things a step further this season, building on their foundation and growing their understanding of the game. We saw improved positioning, stronger passing plays, better defensive awareness, and an emerging sense of game strategy. Even more impressive was their sportsmanship—supporting teammates, respecting opponents, and showing resilience whether the scoreboard was in their favour or not.
A special highlight for both divisions was the year-end jamboree this past weekend. It was a perfect way to close out the season, bringing together teams, families, and coaches to celebrate how far everyone has come. The atmosphere was full of excitement, pride, and community spirit—exactly what youth sports should be.
To our Wizards coaches: thank you for your time, patience, and encouragement. The development we’ve seen this season is a direct reflection of your commitment.
To our Wizards parents and families: thank you for getting players to practices, cheering from the sidelines, and supporting the program every step of the way.
And most importantly, to our Wizards players: you made this season what it was. Your effort, enthusiasm, and willingness to learn is what makes these programs so special.
We’re excited to see what next season brings as these athletes continue to grow in skill and confidence.
