The future of female lacrosse was on full display at the 2026 GELC Ice Breaker Tournament over May 1-3, 2026, in Edmonton.
As one of Alberta’s premier all-girls box lacrosse events, the Ice Breaker continues to play an important role in growing and celebrating female lacrosse. This tournament brought together athletes from across the province (and western Canada) for a weekend of competition, development, teamwork, and community.
For the Wizards Lacrosse Club, it was incredible to see our athletes compete with confidence, determination, and grit throughout the tournament weekend. Events like this help create visibility and opportunity for girls in sport, while inspiring the next generation of female lacrosse players.
We would also like to congratulate and recognize our Wizards athletes who earned spots on the tournament All-Star teams. This is an incredible accomplishment and well-deserved recognition for their hard work and performance:
Congratulations to these athletes on an outstanding accomplishment!
A huge thank you as well to the coaches, managers, volunteers, families, and organizers who continue to support and grow the female game.
The future of girls lacrosse is bright, and the Wizards are proud to be part of it.
