Lacrosse doesn’t run without coaches — and every season we rely on parents, former players, and community members to step forward and help lead our teams.

If you’ve ever thought about coaching, this is the perfect place to start.

The Greater Edmonton Lacrosse Council (GELC) is hosting upcoming virtual coaching clinics designed specifically for new and developing coaches.

These clinics provide the foundation needed to confidently step behind the bench and support our athletes throughout the season.

COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT (U7-U13)

COMPETITION INTRODUCTION (U13+)

This is a two part course. Both online and on-floor must be completed to receive certification.

1. Attend a VIRTUAL clinic
2. Sign up for an ON FLOOR session to complete the course.

Coaching Pathway - Deadline April 1st

Bench Position: Head Coach or Assistant Coach

You intend to be rostered on the bench and participate in games. 

If this is you:

• You must meet the certification requirements for your division.
• First-year coaches must begin with Community Development.
• Coaches showing “In Training” status (2019-present) in their NCCP Locker are eligible to coach.
• You must apply by April 1, 2026.
• All required certifications must be completed prior to May 15, 2026.

Non compliant coaches will be removed on 15 May 2025.

COACHES DEVELOPMENT SESSIONS

Coaches are to attend both the scheduled player sessions and the coach sessions.
