🥍 February Update: Evaluations, Tryouts & What to Expect

As we head into one of the busiest and most exciting parts of our season, we want to make sure every family — especially those new to the club — feels informed and confident about what’s coming next.

February and March bring A-team tryouts, evaluations, and key season milestones.

Below is a clear overview of important dates and what to expect.

📅 Key Dates - February & March

A-Team Tryouts (U13 / U15 / U17)

• U17A [NORTH] Tryouts - Feb 15-25
• U15A Tryouts - Feb TBD
• U13A Tryouts - Feb TBD
• Details and expectations will be shared directly with registered players.

Evaluations - All Divisions

• Dates: Mar TBD
• Location: Mar TBD
• Please arrive 20 minutes early for check-in.

Registration Deadlines

• Intent Declarations (A-level): Feb 10th [PASSED]
• Coaches Registration Cut-Off: Apr 1st
• Final Registration Cut-Off: May 1st

Upcoming FREE Come-Try Session (All Age Divisions)

• Feb 24th - 6-7pm - Bannerman School (14112 23 St NW, Edmonton)
• A great opportunity for new players to experience lacrosse in a supportive environment.

What Families Should Know

🟠 A-Level Tryouts

A-team evaluations may feel more competitive due to roster limits. Final decisions are based on team balance and long-term development, not just individual performance on one night.

🟠 Evaluations Are About Placement, Not Pressure

Evaluations help ensure players are placed at the level that best supports their development. Coaches are looking at effort, teamwork, coachability, and overall skill — not just game highlights.

🟠 Communication Timeline

We are working to keep communication consistent and predictable during this busy period.

For New Families

If this is your first season with us — welcome! We know this time of year can feel like a lot of information at once.

A few helpful reminders:

• Arrive early to sessions

• Bring full gear and water

• Check your email regularly for updates

• Don’t hesitate to ask questions

Our goal is to make this process as clear and supportive as possible for players and parents alike.
