Transfers: What This Means

Player Pathways This Season

Due to player numbers this season, we have a number of Wizards players who have been transferred to another club in the lacrosse league (GELC) for team play.

While they won’t be rostered under the Wizards banner this year, this is a positive and exciting opportunity for our athletes to continue developing their skills, competing, and enjoying the game at a high level.

By joining the another lacrosse club, players will:

• Have the opportunity to play on full, competitive rosters
• Continue building their skills and confidence
• Experience new coaching and team environments
• Stay active and engaged in the sport they love

Most importantly, these players are still part of our Wizards community. We are incredibly proud of them and remain committed to supporting them throughout their season.

Division Transfers

While all players have already been contacted directly, here is a (general) list of transfers for this season:

• U13 (male & female) and U17 (male) players will be joining the Fort Saskatchewan Rebels
• U11 (female) and U15 (female) players will be joining the St. Albert Rams
• U11 (female) players will be joining the Sherwood Park Titans

Important Next Steps

Moving forward, your host team will be your primary point of contact for all player-related information. Families can expect communication directly from their host team regarding evaluations, team placement, and season schedules. 

We understand this is a change, but it’s one rooted in ensuring every player has the best possible experience this season. We’re excited to see our athletes grow, compete, and represent themselves so well within the lacrosse community.

While they may be playing elsewhere this season, we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way.
